Our Norwegian Fjords Cruise by Jackie W

We have just returned from a Fred Olsen Norwegian Fjords cruise on Black Watch!

We were first time cruisers and unsure whether cruising would be for us. However, we had a wonderful holiday and were really impressed with the cruise. Black Watch is a very comfortable and intimate small ship (only about 800 passengers) and would appeal to anyone who does not like the idea of a resort style larger ship. Our departure port was Rosyth (Edinburgh) and departure and arrival formalities were speedy and straightforward. We received superb service from all the crew and the food was of a consistently high standard.

The Norwegian Fjords were spectacular and we enjoyed having the scenery all around us whilst we were cruising. We did not pre-book excursions but instead picked up walking routes from the tourist information office at each port of call and went off exploring by ourselves – it was great to get some exercise after all that lovely food!! We would certainly cruise again with Fred Olsen.
