Anna Maria Island near Florida

Anna Maria Island by Lisa

Anna Maria is a fantastic relaxed place to stay; I would describe it as a quirky Caribbean with American standards.

We stayed in an amazing 5 bedroom villa but there are lots of choices to suit all budgets.

You can relax by the sea or your pool area use the free trolley service to get around, hire a car, use the taxi service or the most popular mode of transport is bike rentals.

We used the trolley service, found a taxi company (the Monkey bus) bike rentals and our own transport to travel a bit further afield.

You can be as adventurous or relaxed as you want and ladies hit the shops!!!

We did a bit of everything…

Kayaking was brilliant and virtually impossible to capsize!!! We weren’t lucky enough to see any Manatee’s however we did see the Dolphin’s.

Treeumph! Adventure course – Elevated outdoor adventure park with climbing suspension bridges & zip line course for all levels. Such a brilliant morning out, they have an area for children which is completely supervised so the kids can do the small course while the parents head for the adults course.

There are plenty of places to eat out, we tried 7 different places and the food was amazing with plenty of choice for everyone.

Ellenton Outlets – great for shopping and brilliant discounts, we could have done with an extra case to come home with!
