Giz a Job!
Cockermouth Floods You may wonder what it takes to get a job at Cockermouth Travel - normally I ask for a minimum of 4 years ABTA experience, good maths and English but in light of recent events we have now added "Must have own wellies, umbrella and the ability to swim one length of Main St".

What a Year!
Cockermouth Travel Prince Charles honoured us with a visit to our new offices although it was definitely an appointment with a Royal - not by Royal appointment. He spent quite a bit of time chatting to all the team and made a huge impression, giving us all a real lift after a really tough week post-flooding.

The office got a bad case of damp!
Cockermouth Travel We met lots of famous people, Prince Charles who was an absolute star (technical term for really nice royal person), he took off his coat and spent ten minutes chatting to all the team. Lord Bragg also popped in to see us and as always was keen to support any good Cumbrian cause. I had lunch with Lord Mandelson - and am not sure how that went - you never know with the Dark Lord but I hear he is about to publish his memoirs - I wonder if we'll get a mention!
It might go something like this!
"Visited a place in Scotland called Cumbria, where it's been a trifle damp and the locals were rather upset. Can't see why - my indoor pool (got it on expenses) is wet and I quite like it. I met an oink who runs a travel agency - said I should mention the damp problem to Gordy - don't know if I will he's always grumpy at the moment, something about a general selection. They promised me fricassee of lamb but they gave me Cumbrian Fellbred Herdwick - I wonder why they keep pigs on a fell?"

We've had a Brooklyn Beckham and Brittany Ferries Cusack...
...well how about calling your next child Aruba? The Westin Hotel Aruba in the Caribbean has a great offer; they will give you $300 off your next stay if you conceive a child whilst staying at the Hotel. It's called 'The Conception Credit' and you will need to produce a note from your doctor validating the approx conception date.
Just one question - if it's triplets do you get $900 off? we await a response from Westin!
